Styrofoam Mom loves Sedgwick
|March 30, 2012||Filled under News||
We are certainly very impressed to see leading lady Kyra Sedgwick the “Closer” talking closed loop recycling. In her interview MSNBC Tuesday March 27th “Morning Joe” , Sedgewick’s most powerful statements are the simplest ones. “Using once and disposing of is just waste.” Admitting to be a little obsessed (we know the type) the self proclaimed civic activist plans to moderate an informed dialogue preceding the UN Conference on Sustainable Development Earth Summit. Joining her on this quest is Leila Monroe of the National Resource Defense Fund. Together they intend to promote discussions on how to use less plastic and consider ways to create incentives for sustainable development. They want to see cities begin to mirror the effort in California and other leading states.
Advance this message in the coffee shops, fast food joints and around the water cooler. The choir is singing “Ban Single Use Styrofoam and start recycling Styrofoam close to home.” This is not a political issue it is a practical one that your mom would agree with. I certainly do!
Michael Steele, former Chairman of the Republican National Committee inquired to the duet on we get away from industry using convenience plastics and begin changing attitudes. “it is a catch 22.”
