Medical Journal Article: 14, 000 U.S. Deaths Tied to Fukushima Reactor Disaster Fallout — WASHINGTON, Dec. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/
As you read this, Virginia is at an energy crossroads. Our community remains dependent on dirty energy sources like coal that contribute to asthma, lung disease, cancer and other serious health and environmental problems.
The good news is that we have smart energy solutions: efficiency, offshore wind and solar power. Right now, we have a chance to take the road to a clean energy future. On the heels of the incredible victory against the GenOn Potomac River coal plant, Dominion Virginia Power plans to phase out 2 of the dirtiest coal plants in Virginia. This is great news, but the plan has no real commitment to renewable energy.
That’s why we are taking action and launching a campaign to make sure these coal power plants are replaced with the clean energy we need.
We can make this happen this fall, but we need YOUR help. The best way to learn more and get involved is to come to our Campaign Kick Off Meeting to move Beyond Coal next Tuesday night. RSVP right away and bring a friend to:
